Dear compatriots,
I, Bakhtiyor Ibrahimov, The Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates, is writing to you on behalf of our government.
In connection with the current situation, I understand your concern and numerous questions regarding further actions, if any, that need to be taken.
On behalf of Uzbek Government, I would like to assure you that the state will not leave a single compatriot without attention and care.
I confirm the message made earlier by my colleague, the Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the UAE, Alisher Salomov, that anyone who wishes so, will be taken to their homeland despite the announcement of a temporary suspension of air traffic of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Please note that the epidemiological situation in the UAE is calmer compared to other countries, for example, Europe or Iran, where our brothers and sisters, citizens of Uzbekistan, were also stuck due to the current circumstances.
Currently, we are working with the competent authorities in Tashkent to determine the mechanism and procedure for the departure of our citizens from the UAE to Uzbekistan.
As of 23:00h. 15th March 2020, please adhere to the following algorithm of actions:
1. Flight HY-334 scheduled for March 16, 2020 JSC Uzbekistan Airways on the route Dubai-Tashkent has been canceled. Refunds, rebooking of purchased tickets will be carried out in accordance with the previously posted notice of the representative office of Uzbekistan Airways JSC in the UAE;
2. In order to organise the return of the citizens of Uzbekistan from the UAE to their homeland, an operational headquarters is being created from the staff of the embassy, consulate general and representative office of Uzbekistan Airways JSC in the UAE, headed by the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the UAE. The headquarters will be located in the building of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Dubai and begins its work at 00:00 16th March 2020 to stabilize the situation;
3. In order to avoid creating agiotage, panic and to prevent the spread of virus, we ask that you use this communication channel as much as possible to liaise the organization of the return of compatriots to our homeland and visit the headquarters, either in case of an invitation or an emergency;
4. As stated above by the Consul General, please continue to follow the official information in this Telegram group and share the group details and its latest information update with the largest possible number of compatriots. We would also be grateful for compliance with the rules of this online chat group;
5. All employees of government bodies in the UAE - the embassy, consulate general, representative office of Uzbekistan Airways JSC - will remain at your disposal. We will promptly inform you as the latest update on the situation becomes available.
On my own behalf, I urge you to remain calm and to join forces with us in this challenging time. Together we are a solid force able to overcome any adversities.

At the moment, together with representatives of Uzbekistan Airways, a mechanism is being decided to organize the departure of those who wishes to travel to the home country. Members of the group are urged to remain vigilant and adhere to all necessary personal hygiene rules. We sincerely hope for your mindfulness, calmness, mutual understanding and patience. In the meantime, we urge you to refrain from disseminating any unconfirmed information on the subject matter.
The embassy and the Consulate General were instructed to prepare a list of citizens wishing to fly to Uzbekistan. We ask everyone to send their data (name, estimated date of departure) by e-mail to the consulate: ae.uzconsulate@mfa.uz.
After receiving the list of applicants, charter flights will be organized in Uzbekistan for the return of the citizens to their homeland. I, Alisher Salomov, Consul General of Uzbekistan in Dubai and Northern Emirates, and my team are here to offer you our full support on behalf of our Government.
In connection with the above mentioned, the emergency headquarters were established in order to offer the aid in supporting fellow citizens.
