President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of Develop Textile foreign enterprise in Khazorasp FEZ.

This economic zone is organized in accordance with the Presidential Decree of January 12, 2017. The Head of the state visited this enterprise in October 2019 and gave instructions on submitted projects.

19 projects worth more than 306 million USD are being implemented in Khazorasp FEZ, including with attracting more than 266 million USD of foreign direct investment. They include production of sandwich panels, detergents, car radiators, construction materials, knitwear, medical gloves, shoes and other products. More than 1100 people are employed.

One of the flagships of FEZ is Develop Textile LLC. The company was commissioned in January 2020 based on 13 million USD project. Modern equipment fr om Germany, Turkey and China has been installed here, 760 jobs have been created.

The company produces 4 thousand tons of finished dyed knitted fabric and 14 million units of various sewing products per year. It is planned to export products at the amount of 12 million USD annually to Germany, France and other European countries.

The Head of the state visited this enterprise, got acquainted with the production process and finished products, and talked with specialists and seamstresses.

The President noted the need for increasing the number of such modern companies in order to fully process raw cotton harvested in the region and export only finished products.

This year, it is planned to launch four enterprises with a total cost of more than 26 million USD and create 488 jobs in Khazorasp FEZ.

Presentation of investment projects that are planned to be implemented in Khorezm region was also held. The Head of the state gave appropriate instructions on them.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev became acquainted with modern greenhouse of Global Food Impeks LLC in Yangiarik district.

Broad conditions are created in Uzbekistan for processing and export of agricultural products. Greenhouses based on hydroponics are being built at places. This contributes to the cultivation of qualitative products and creation of many jobs.

More than 23 hectares of land have been allocated for Global Food Impeks LLC. A greenhouse on 10 hectares was created at the first stage. 140 people are employed.

Before there was an ownerless land with saline soil. And now each hectare will bring 300-400 thousand dollars of income a year.

So, already in January, a crop of tomatoes and cucumbers ripened. Over the past short time, the company’s exports amounted to 480 thousand USD. By the end of the year, it is planned to sell products for 4-5 million dollars.

In August this year, it is planned to commission the second phase of the project with creation of a greenhouse on 13 hectares. Having reached full capacity, the company will be able to harvest 4 thousand tons of tomatoes and cucumbers per year, as well as grow strawberries, flowers and other products. 280 jobs will be created. Eighty percent of products are scheduled to be exported to neighboring countries, Russia and Turkey.

“Scientific approach and innovative vision have been formed in agriculture. This is an example of how, working wisely, one can get a lot of income. It is necessary to increase the number of such modern greenhouses, expand their area to 100-200 hectares. Jobs will appear, export will improve”, noted the Head of the state.

Instructions were given to localize the production of greenhouse constructions and to organize processing of products taking into account market demand.

Presentation of projects on development of horticulture, homestead farming, animal husbandry and fish farming in Khorezm region was also held here.

During a visit to Ipak Gilamlar enterprise in Fergana region in May last year, the Head of the state gave instructions on organization of a silk-growing cluster. A resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On additional measures for development of deep processing in silk industry” of July 31, 2019 was adopted. It gave a new impetus to reforms in this direction. Silk spinning enterprises have been opened in all regions of the country. One such modern production facility was launched by Khorazm Pilla Holding cluster in Yangiarik district.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activity of this enterprise.

Implementation of the first stage of the project worth $5 million has been completed here, two processing lines have been commissioned. Production of raw silk, silk wool, silk fabrics and carpets has been established. It is planned to export products for almost 1 million 160 thousand USD a year.

The enterprise constantly employs 120 people, 1800 seasonal workers, mainly women and girls, are also involved.

The Head of the state gave instructions to responsible persons regarding the creation of similar enterprises in other areas, allocation of buildings and mulberry plantations for entrepreneurs. The need was noted for development of an appropriate program, implementation of which should become the creation of income sources for the population and poverty reduction.

In 2019, Khorazm Ipagi and Khiva Silk Fabric cocoon processing enterprises began operating in the region. This year, it is planned to open an enterprise for procurement of industrial grains by attracting investments at the amount of $1 million.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Ichan-Kala complex in the city of Khiva and got acquainted with the results of restoration work carried out in Amir Tura Madrasah.

Ichan-Kala is a unique fortress, wh ere the traditions of architecture and craftsmanship, the cultural heritage of our people are embodied. There are 58 historical sites and 17 museums. The complex is included in UNESCO World Heritage List.

Currently, activity is carried out for restoration and conservation of monuments.

Construction of Amir Tura Madrasah began in 1872. There are 54 hujras, the courtyard is decorated with mosaics. There were also two domes, a winter and a summer mosque, a class. The decoration of the facade discontinued due to the invasion of the Russian Empire in Khorezm.

Madrasah has turned into one of the tourist sites of Ichan-Kala.

The Head of the state noted that each brick of ancient architectural monuments has historical value, meaning is hidden in each pattern. He emphasized the need for bringing our cultural heritage to the next generations and development of a restoration school for this purpose.

Presentation of projects on the use of huge tourism potential of Khorezm region took place.

A program for development of tourism in the region in 2020-2021 has been developed. So, it is planned to create theme parks “Anor”, “Anjir” in Khiva district, “Mennonite village” in Yangiarik district.

Last December, Khorezm Lazgi dance was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Representatives of foreign countries are interested in studying this national dance. In this regard, it is planned to open a Lazgi Academy in the region.

Currently, more than 600 farms are engaged in fish farming in the region. For the effective use of their potential in gastronomic tourism, it is planned to organize an international class service at 71 lakes.

Instructions have been given for finalizing projects.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev became acquainted with the Presidential School in Khiva.

Most modern conditions are created here according to standards of Presidential schools. 144 students (grades 5-10) were selected on a competitive basis for the current academic year. The pedagogical staff of 21 experienced teachers and 9 foreign specialists was formed.

The Head of the state got acquainted with conditions created at school, talked with students.

“We set very big goals. In achieving them, we believe and rely on young people like you. You went through a difficult competition, entered this school and took the first step on a long way. The best of the best are studying here. Convey my gratitude to your parents for raising such smart children. First of all, it is theirs, as well as my happiness, the happiness of the whole nation”, the President said.
