On 7th December, 2019, a meeting of the members of the election committee was held at the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Dubai and Northern Emirates, during which the events related to the organization and conduct of the upcoming elections were discussed in detail. Also, organizational issues were discussed regarding the creation of ample opportunities for preliminary voting of citizens. These measures are intended to create the necessary conditions for citizens who will not be able to participate in the elections on December 22 of this year.
In collaboration with representatives of the Central Election Committee who participated at the meeting, it is planned to create mobile polling stations in the territory of the Emirates of Dubai and Sharjah, which will operate from 13th to 16th December. The locations of the mobile polling stations will be announced in the following publications. In order to ensure the equal participation in the election process along with everyone else, the members of the election committee will visit citizens with disabilities, as well as those with health conditions, who will not be able to visit the polling station on Election day.
The Central Election Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan pays close attention to the issues of compliance with the constitutional rights of citizens living abroad in terms of the electoral law in polling stations open in foreign countries. We recall that the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Dubai and the Northern Emirates was approved as Polling Station No. 16. Citizens of Uzbekistan residing in the UAE, can obtain all the necessary information about the upcoming elections on the consulate’s website.
