Uzbekistan and the UAE are expanding multilateral cooperation.
Dubai, UAE. The talks between Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and Minister for Cabinet Affairs and the Future of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi took place on September 14, 2020 in the format of a video conference.
During the videoconference, the progress of bilateral cooperation within the framework of the program to improve the efficiency of public administration in the Republic of Uzbekistan was discussed. Significant progress was noted in all 22 areas of interaction, achieved thanks to the coordinated and systematic work of the relevant ministries and departments of Uzbekistan and the UAE.
Since April 2019, within the framework of this program, 76 events have been held, including 59 specialized trainings for leaders and employees of ministries and departments of Uzbekistan, the total duration of which was 33,994 hours. At the same time, the number of civil servants who underwent training in the framework of trainings amounted to 2,094 people. By the end of this year, another 71 events are planned.
In this context, the prospects for expanding the program of bilateral cooperation were considered by covering the spheres of finance, trade, tourism and the development of business incubators. They also discussed the practical aspects of the final stage of the competition for the development of the best state mobile application "mGovAward", where the Emirati side sponsors a prize fund of $ 100,000, and the prospects for expanding the "One Million Programmers" program.
This program is implemented jointly with the Dubai Future Foundation, and more than 6 thousand people throughout the country are its participants. The Emirati side was informed that, in accordance with the government decision, programming training will be included in educational programs in schools and higher educational institutions of the Republic.
The agenda of the talks also touched upon current issues related to the acceleration of the implementation of joint projects and the intensification of bilateral cooperation.
Following the videoconference, the parties expressed their commitment to the accelerated implementation of the existing agreements, as well as their readiness to intensify the practice of bilateral online negotiations at various levels for more intensive interaction and prompt resolution of current issues.
